It's been... strange not having the internet for a month and a half, except for brief visits. The strangest part was that I didn't miss it.

List 6 random things about yourself and tag 6 others to do the same:
1. I find it very difficult to have an opinion about issues because I find it too easy to see both (or more) sides of it.
2. Currently my favourite teas are tleaft's Sakura Rose, Tea Total's Monk Tea and Wild Cherry and Sir Thomas Lipton's Green Tea with Jasmine.
3. I'm a thinker not a doer.
4. I've never been drunk.
5. I'm really sick of work at the moment.
6. If I won a million dollars I'd use it to spend at couple of years travelling. If I won 20 million dollars, I'd give most of it away.
And I never tag people, so I'm not going to start now.

Engrish

1) This is an eraser. It is a thing used wen the erratum is erased.
I don't think I've ever seen a mix of Engrish and Latin before...
2) This is a destroyer. It used when to war is popular. But Japan can't wars. But Japan can use in foreign countrys. Because Japan can't use it for wars. But Japan can use for training and disaster restoration. So Japan keep the Self-Defense Forces. Thank you for listening my speech.
If anyone can figure out exactly what a destroyer is, in this case, please tell me.

So, what do you do when a student, who was writing of a class trip to Osaka, wrote "we were happy and hard" about making and eating okonomiyaki?
You snicker and refuse to say why.
...It's too late, she's already completed her good version for display.

I finally found out when Conan's on! Or, I did on Monday anyway. Not an overly interesting episode, but I'm sure there'll be others.
Oh, and I have a new camera =) Yay!

I dunno. I like glasses. But I don't think I like them enough to name a glasses store E-r-o-t-i-c-a which someone here in Tokyo did (minus the dashes).
On the other hand, my memory's pretty good. I remembered exactly where Mandarake and Animate were in Shibuya.

Some of you have probably seen this before, but it's fun anyway, if only to prove to yourself how intelligent you are.

General overview of Japan so far
Sep. 29th, 2005 | 03:12 pm
I’m in Japan. Which is great, so far. I don’t think the work will be overly strenuous and the rest of the time I get taken places to try strange food, some of which isn’t overly pleasant and meet people. So far most of the people have been middle-aged, but they’re nice and financially better off than younger people, which means they insist on shouting me dinner and trains and concerts and stuff.
A downside, of sorts, is that I have no internet at home. It’s a bit strange being without it, but I’ve only ever been a lurker, so it’s not much of a problem. I occasionally have a pang for missing catching up with LJ, but not for long.
It was really humid the first couple of days until a typhoon passed by and took the heat with it. Since then it’s definitely been feeling autmn-y, which means the colour change shouldn’t be far away!
I’m in Shinagawa, which is part of Tokyo, and my first impression was that it was a lot greener than Osaka. Which is nice. I don’t think I’ll get to the point where I miss the sound of the wind in the trees, which I did in Osaka.
I live right next door to a temple, whose name I have forgotten again although I know it starts with ‘H’ and often hear crows, especially in the morning and especially when they’re either scuffling or dancing on the roof.
I have a Lawsons (convenience store) just down the street from which I can buy my favourite nikkuman to date – pizza-man and curry-man and a Book Off (secondhand book/manga, CD and DVD store) pretty close by.
